We are pleased to announce that AlcaSpace, the space division of Alca Technology, has been awarded a contract to supply two space simulation chambers (TVACs) to its client ISQ in Porto Salvo (Portugal).

The project includes a large-scale TVAC for testing complete satellites and subsystems, as well as an auxiliary TVAC for small components and rapid validation.
The main chamber will measure 3,200 mm in diameter × 3,800 mm in length and will be capable of operating using GN2 technology (pressurised nitrogen gas) at temperatures ranging from –150 °C to +150 °C, with a temperature uniformity of ±2 °C.
The vacuum in the chamber will be <5 × 10⁻⁷ mbar.
It will also be equipped with a TQCM for measuring outgassing and molecular contamination.
The auxiliary chamber will measure 1,500 mm in diameter by 1,500 mm in length and will also be capable of operating using GN2 technology, from -150 °C to +150 °C.
